This week marks the 60th anniversary of the recording date of Cannonball Adderley’s classic Somethin’ Else album, featuring Miles Davis, Art Blakey, Hank Jones and Sam Jones.
Somethin’ Else was recorded by engineer Rudy Van Gelder and, despite subsequent advances in recording technology in the 60 years since it was recorded, it can still rival modern recordings for sonic quality.
