The Doobie Brothers was formed in California in 1970 and became one of the leading bands of the 1970’s. The Doobie Brothers are still performing.

Mark’s comments:  IMHO the Doobie Brothers were one of the best bands of the 1970’s. The lineup changed in 1975 when guitarist Tom Johnston left the band and was replaced by Micheal McDonald, who took the band in a new musical direction. Tom Johnston later rejoined the Doobie Brothers and the band went back toward its original sound. I like the Doobie Brothers with Tom Johnston. I’m not particularly interested in the Doobie Brothers during their Micheal McDonald period.
