Buck Clayton (1911-1981) was one of the leading trumpet players in jazz from the 1930s to the early 1970’s, when a lip injury forced his retirement.
Apart from leading his own bands, Buck Clayton also played in bands led by Count Basie, Benny Goodman and Eddie Condon.
